We had a couple Elf ornaments that would come out every year during the Yule season. They always fascinated me. Those long skinny legs and sweet faces. They are very much like the boudoir dolls of the 1920s.
I'm gonna make three and take them down to a local gallery here in Portland, hopefully they will display them for the Yule season.
While making the elf in the photos I got an idea for a dress. An a-line dress for one of the girl dolls that will be listed soon. This is the magic of working through the creative blocks. I've been a bit on pause with the costumes for some of the dolls that are ready for market. Instead of not doing anything I've continued to make other dolls, like the elf, the colors and materials started to sing a song of a little girl's ruffled dress, now I have one outfit down and twelve to go.
Show up and the magic will too.
The elf in the photo will be around $133. He is the largest of the three.
He will have a loop in his hat from which to hang as the vintage ones did.
