I'm spinning up some lace weight yarn/thread for the detail work on one of my display sized dolls. That's how much I love this art.
The yarn ball in the photo will turn into a collar and sleeve details for the same doll. Also, I have some gorgeous antique jewelry to embellish this particular outfit I'm working on. I simply can't wait to finish her and show you doll lovers in the world. She will be one of the dolls available for sale in Oct.
It's gray in Portland today. The year is half over. All my attention is focused toward the fall release of my dolls. It's easy to lose sight of the moment. The day. It's easy to get caught up in feeling behind on life, projects, work, family. I find myself entertaining these unproductive thoughts far too often. The only way out is deeper in. By spinning and felting -- by showing up for myself and the work -- I am able to live in the moment. Like a plant pushing a bloom into being, the energy spent is worth the effort.
May the day bring you light in some way or form.
Keep showing up,
